The history of autism and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in Lebanon reflects both parental determination and professional growth. Early in 2000, parents first sought ABA services outside the country, bringing back training and intervention strategies to support their children locally. Their early advocacy planted the seeds for wider awareness and laid the groundwork for practice in Lebanon. Over the following decade, trained practitioners began to emerge, gradually earning international certifications and strengthening the professional base. The establishment of ABA Lebanon in 2017 marked a pivotal milestone, uniting families and professionals under one platform dedicated to advancing standards of practice, training, and inclusion. This keynote, “Timeline of Autism and ABA in Lebanon – Parents’ Perspective”, retraces this journey, highlighting the unique role of parents as catalysts for change and the growing collaboration with practitioners in shaping the national landscape of ABA.
