Abstract

Identifying and maintaining quality and standards of practice – Regulatory measures to establish professional licensure and professional recognition – Country specific measures to establish professional standards and licensure – Ethics and performance competency measures – Dr. Leyla Dirani (LOPSY), Dr. Hilda Khoury (Ministry of Education), Mr. Rached Chatila (Parent and Founder Puzzle Me Boo), BAAB representative, Dr. Michael Mueller (IBAO) virtual, Dr. Asmahan Saleh Khalil (BACB).

This panel will explore the ethical foundations of licensing and certification as critical mechanisms for maintaining quality and accountability in professional practice. Panelists representing regulatory bodies, academic institutions, professional organizations, and families will discuss country-specific approaches to licensure, ethical and performance competency standards, and collaborative strategies to ensure professional integrity and recognition. Emphasis will be placed on aligning regulatory frameworks with the BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts (2022) to safeguard competence, protect the public, and advance ethical practice across diverse contexts.
